The Renewable Heat Incentive

The Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) is a government backed scheme to encourage the use of renewable energy technologies amongst householders, communities and businesses by awarding financial incentives.

The UK Government expects the RHI to contribute towards the 2020 ambition of 12% of heating to be generated by renewable sources. Successful applicants will receive RHI payments on a quarterly basis over 7 years.

• A self-builder

NOTE: A new-build property is not currently eligible for RHI payments unless it has been self-built. Domestic RHI payments are only eligible for single properties. In some cases such as a block of flats it may be possible to apply to non-domestic RHI payments.
